The author, Brian Heston, gives a great local perspective on the best places to go, things to see, and things to do in Downtown Chicago. The focus is specifically on that area, but points of interest that are close by are touched on too. I enjoyed the extra effort applied to local architecture that included some of its history. The author’s personal favorites for places to dine sounded very worthwhile!
Plenty of information to keep a visitor to Downtown Chicago happily busy for a two or three day weekend trip! - CK

The best thing about this Guide to Chicago was that it was written by a local and that caused me to want to read this book, thinking that he probably knew well all the best places to visit firsthand! I have been to downtown Chicago and loved it, but this guide brought some other places to mind that I now want to visit like The Art Institute of Chicago. The guide provided a lot of photos that helped visualize the landmarks and various places he discussed, which was great! Overall, great guide book for anyone wanting to head into downtown Chicago to tour the sites! - ccaloha

I lived and worked in Chicago for nearly a decade, so this was an interesting read for me. I found the recommendations excellent. Including phone numbers for restaurants and other attractions would have been helpful. A good guide to Downtown Chicago for first-time and return visitors. - Jane L

On my Bucket List of cities to visit is Chicago and this guide was perfect introduction of all things to do in Chicago. I really appreciated the pictures in this book, it just makes it even more tantalizing as a vacation destination. I really enjoyed the author's suggestions and found it very informative. David S
